Sara Schmidt

Sara Schmidt has a diverse work experience with various roles and responsibilities. Sara currently serves as the VP of Shelter Operations at the Nebraska Humane Society since April 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of VP of Business Operations in the same organization since March 2018. From 2011 to 2018, Sara worked at StrategicHealthSolutions as the Director of Operations in the Research and Design Division. Before that, they were the Quality Improvement Coordinator at Bellevue Medical Center from 2010 to 2011 and at Douglas County Community Mental Health Center from 2005 to 2010. Sara started their career as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist at the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired from 2002 to 2005.

Sara Schmidt earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, a period spanning from 1993 to 1998. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, studying from 2000 to 2002.
