Mpho Lekgoathi, PhD, Pr.Sci.Nat, serves as Chief Scientist at Necsa since January 2009, where responsibilities include leading fundamental research in nuclear-related and fluorine chemistry, as well as overseeing product development in applied sciences. Mpho also contributes to the NSTF science councils committee, aiding in planning sessions for events in the science councils sector, and acts as a Research and Development Innovation Champion by advising and coordinating Necsa's Innovation Forum. Additionally, Mpho has been an Exco Member of the National Science and Technology Forum since February 2019. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Applied Science, Chemical Technology from the University of Pretoria and an M-tech in Chemistry from Tshwane University of Technology.
