Roel de Haan is a data scientist at Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit (NZa) since November 2018, focusing on data analysis for the governance of the mental health care sector, including projects on funding systems and COVID-19 impacts. Previously, Roel served as a PhD candidate at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from April 2013 to September 2018, specializing in in vivo electrophysiology. Prior roles include research assistant at Uppsala University, where Roel studied electrophysiological properties of visual interneurons, and teaching at Luzac College. Roel holds a Master’s degree in Neuroscience, cum laude, and a Bachelor’s degree in Bio-medical sciences, both from the University of Amsterdam.
