Akshat Karani is a Machine Learning Engineer at Needl.ai since July 2021, specializing in the development of a Question Answering bot utilizing advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation techniques and managing an information retrieval system at terabyte scale. In addition, Akshat builds NLP systems for text analysis, information extraction, and summarization using state-of-the-art Transformer models. Previously, Akshat worked as a Data Engineer, responsible for creating and maintaining infrastructure to efficiently process large volumes of data from various sources. Akshat also gained experience as an intern at nVipani Technology Solutions and participated in Google Summer of Code 2019 with the coala project. Akshat holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Dharwad, completed in April 2021.
