Anita Sowers

Anita Sowers has extensive work experience in the healthcare and social services fields. Anita started their career in 1984 at the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center, where they held multiple roles over a span of 26 years, including Case Manager, Community Support Services Coordinator, Residential Program Coordinator, and Manager.

In 2010, Anita joined Chrysalis Center, Inc. as a Clinical Support Services Manager. Anita was responsible for overseeing and administering all aspects of the Residential Community Support Services and the newly created CSP/RP service model. Anita supervised twelve case managers and a peer support specialist.

Anita then moved on to work as a Staff Therapist at South Bay Mental Health Center in 2011. Anita'sresponsibilities included providing individual, family, and couples counseling services. Anita conducted intake meetings, compiled clients' medical and social histories, and created individualized treatment plans.

From 2012 to 2014, Anita worked as a Care Manager at Connecticut Community Care, Inc. Anita provided care management services to individuals in the Connecticut Home Care Program for the Elderly. Anita'sresponsibilities included conducting assessments, creating treatment plans, and conducting monitoring calls and home visits.

In 2014, Anita joined the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center again, but this time as the Director of Clinical Services. Anita ensured compliance with state licensing rules and regulations, agency policies and procedures, and oversaw incident management for adult services.

In 2016, Anita joined MedOptions as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and worked until 2017.

Anita'smost recent role was at Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, where they started in 2017 as a Lead Care Manager and later became the Manager of Care Management for the Nursing Home Team.

Anita Sowers earned their Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Rhode Island College, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Anita then continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master's degree in Social Work from 2007 to 2009.
