Michelle Hughes, PharmD, BCACP has an extensive work experience spanning over 15 years. Michelle is currently serving as the Director of Quality and Population Health at Neighborhood Healthcare since January 2021. Prior to this role, they held the position of Quality Manager at the same company from June 2020 to January 2021. Michelle also worked as a Clinical Pharmacist at Neighborhood Healthcare from October 2017 to June 2020.

Before joining Neighborhood Healthcare, Michelle worked at Palomar Health as a Clinical Pharmacist from October 2017 to January 2019. Prior to that, they served as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Specialist at Palomar Health from September 2015 to September 2017.

In addition, Michelle held the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at Keck Graduate Institute (KGI), School of Pharmacy from September 2015 to September 2017.

Earlier in their career, Michelle gained valuable experience as a PGY2 Resident Pharmacist-Transitions of Care and PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Resident at Palomar Health. Michelle also worked as a Research Fellow at Millennium Health from June 2010 to August 2011. Michelle started their career as a Method Development Associate I at Gen Probe from March 2009 to December 2009.

Before entering the healthcare industry, Michelle worked as an Associate Scientist I at Catalent Pharma Solutions from June 2007 to February 2009. Michelle also interned as a PURE Intern at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2006.

Michelle Hughes, PharmD, BCACP, obtained their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from UC San Diego, where they studied pharmacy from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Austin College, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biochemistry from 2003 to 2007. In 2014, Michelle received their Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification from the BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties. In 2017, they obtained their Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) certification, also from the same institution.
