Megan Ranney, MD, MPH, is an emergency physician and leading national voice on gun violence prevention. Megan is the current advisor at NEMIC Foundation, previous Director of Special Projects at Brown Emergency Medicine, and has also served on the Board of Directors for the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. Dr. Ranney's work focuses on improving outcomes for patients with acute injuries, whether from trauma or self-harm. In their previous role as Chair of the Trauma & Injury Prevention Section for the American College of Emergency Physicians, they worked to reduce the number of preventable deaths and injuries due to firearms. Megan has also conducted research on the use of digital health technologies to improve patient care and reduce health care costs.
Megan Ranney attended Brown University for their MPH in Public Health, Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons for their M.D., and Harvard University for their BA in Megan'story and Science.
