NENA: The 9-1-1 Association
Katey Prell, RPL has extensive work experience in the field of public safety communications. Katey started their career in 2012 at the Carlsbad Police Department, where they worked as a Dispatcher for four years. In 2016, they were promoted to the position of Dispatch Supervisor and held this role until 2019. From 2019 to the present, Katey has been serving as a Dispatch Commander at the Carlsbad Police Department. In addition to their work with the police department, they have also taken on leadership roles in professional organizations related to public safety communications. Katey has served as the New Mexico APCO Chapter Secretary/Treasurer for the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials-International, Inc. since 2019, and as the New Mexico NENA Chapter Vice President for NENA: The 9-1-1 Association since that same year.
Katey Prell, RPL completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. Katey attended the university from 2017 to 2020.
