For over one hundred years groups of people spanning the globe, from the United States to the Middle East have been praying that the Lord would raise up a Gospel movement of nationals in the Middle East, so that millions across this historically significant region might become passionate followers of Jesus. By the early 2000s, less than three percent of the region’s population was Christian, and by 2050 it would drop to less than one percent. On top of that, 87% of Muslims had never even met a Christian or heard the Gospel. The need was urgent—more disciples and churches were needed to share the hope of Jesus in these historically “closed” countries.

In 2005, those prayers and dreams turned into action. We set out with a bold vision: to see the Spirit ignite a Gospel movement that would change the trajectory of Christianity in the Near East. What started in five countries—Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Cyprus, and Syria—has now expanded to 28 nations, with more than 60,000 Discovery Bible Study groups formed and countless lives transformed by the message of Jesus.
