Mike Brophy

Mike Brophy is currently the VP of Global Renewals at Neo4j. Prior to their current position, Brophy was the Senior Director of Customer Success at Valimail from December 2018 to November 2019. In this role, they were responsible for ensuring Valimail customers were able to quickly and continuously unleash the value of Valimail's email security services. Mike was also accountable to the Senior Leadership Team for the strategy and execution of Valimail's Customer Success functions.

Prior to their time at Valimail, Brophy was the Senior Director of Renewals at Okta, Inc. from September 2013 to November 2018. During their time leading Okta's Renewals Team, they drove the overall renewal rate by 400bps and posted 5 of Okta's best quarterly renewal rates in history. Mike also led a 6 consecutive quarter streak of renewal rate increase and increased Okta's average renewal term length by a year. For the fiscal year ending January 2018, their team contributed materially to Okta's publicly reported 121% Dollar-based Net Retention Rate and Calculated Billings of $315M (62% YoY).

Brophy has extensive experience in developing tools, automation, and processes to ensure renewals functions scale to address customer growth while continuing to increase ARR Renewal Rates and average term length. Mike has also designed, implemented, and evolved incentive compensation plans and target-setting algorithms designed to align Renewal Team efforts with company performance goals.

Mike Brophy's educational career includes a Bachelor's degree in Russian Language and Literature/Computer Science from the University of Maryland, a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer credential from the University of Phoenix, and C++ and Objective-C development coursework from the University of Washington Bothell and the University of Washington respectively.

Mike Brophy reports to Gopal Nagarajan, VP, Worldwide Professional Services, Customer Support and Customer Success. They are on a team with Jan Aertsen - Senior Director of PS EMEA, Matt Connon - VP, Worldwide Indirect Channels, and Dave Gordon - Senior Director, Support & Customer Success.
