Gustavo Cerqueira

Gustavo Cerqueira is a seasoned bioinformatics professional with extensive experience in computational biology. Currently serving as Senior Director of Bioinformatics at NeoGenomics Laboratories since October 2024, Gustavo previously held prominent roles at Exact Sciences, including Senior Director and Director of Computational Biology from July 2021 to September 2024. Gustavo's expertise encompasses algorithm design for tumor analysis using next-generation sequencing, as well as the migration of cancer biomarker detection assays from tissue-based to non-invasive plasma-based formats. Prior to that, roles at Homology Medicines, Inc., and Personal Genome Diagnostics further solidified Gustavo's leadership in the field. Gustavo began a career in bioinformatics as a Senior Computational Scientist at the Broad Institute and holds a PhD in Bioinformatics and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
