Darran Garforth is an accomplished professional with extensive expertise in operational technology, particularly in water transmission and distribution systems. Currently serving as the Head of Operational Technology for Water Transmission and Distribution at NEOM, Darran plays a key role in providing innovative engineering solutions within the Smart Water Networks. Previously, at MWH (now part of Stantec), Darran excelled as a Senior Managing Consultant, leading the development of a centralized SCADA and business analytics system for Qatar’s wastewater networks. A former Managing Director at Sector 8 Solutions Ltd, Darran established a successful consultancy, earning recognition for sustainability. Darran's career also includes significant roles at United Utilities, MWH Global, Bechtel Corporation, and multiple engineering firms, demonstrating a robust history of project management, system design, and implementation across various water and wastewater initiatives. Darran holds a BEng in Digital Systems Engineering from the University of Sunderland and an MBA from The Open University.
