Philip Mertens is a seasoned professional in hospitality development and management with extensive experience across various roles in multiple countries. Currently serving as Development Director Hospitality at NEOM since January 2022, Philip previously held the position of Managing Director at Usib Advisory Ltd, where responsibilities included acting as owner representative for notable projects in Africa. Philip’s earlier roles include Managing Director at Sandstone Consulting, Development Director at Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort, and SVP Development & Facility Management at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, contributing to major projects across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Philip holds a BSc in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the University of Denver, further solidifying a comprehensive background in the industry.
