Ling Huang has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics and research. Currently, they are working as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Neomorph, Inc. where they apply their expertise in bioinformatics. Prior to this, Ling worked at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies as a Bioinformatics Analyst for five years. In this role, they contributed to high-profile manuscripts, maintained and developed NGS pipelines, and integrated multi-omics datasets to answer various biological questions. Before joining the Salk Institute, Ling was a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan. During this time, they conducted research on root/root hair evolution and development in diverse plant species using RNA-Seq. In addition, they inferred strong conservation of the root development program in early land plants. Ling also gained experience as a Computational Biology Intern at Monsanto Company, where they developed RNA-Seq pipelines and implemented a module for differential splicing analysis. Their earlier work experience includes a role as a Research and Development Trainee at Unilever, where they focused on formulation development for facial cleanser and participated in projects for Dove and Axe.
Ling Huang earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (Plant Genetics) from the University of Michigan, where they studied from 2011 to 2016. Additionally, they obtained a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from the same university during the same time period. Prior to this, Ling Huang completed a Master's degree in Microbiology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2008 to 2010. Ling began their education journey at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from 2004 to 2008. Although the obtained month and year for Ling Huang's additional certifications are not provided, they have completed various courses including "Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python" from edX, "Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 1" from Coursera, "Introduction to Big Data with Apache Spark" from edX, "Scalable Machine Learning" from edX, and "Machine Learning" from Coursera.
