Wadah Atassi

Wadah Atassi, M.D., M.B.A. has a vast amount of experience in the field of nephrology, specifically in chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, hypertension, and interventional nephrology. Wadah has served as a Senior partner and Medical Director at NANI - Nephrology Associates Northern Illinois / Indiana since 2012, where they lead a team of 110 nephrologists across 3 states. In this role, they have extensive clinical experience in consultative nephrology in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Atassi's expertise includes the management of acute kidney injury, electrolytes and acid-base imbalances, plasmapheresis, and various renal replacement therapies.

Additionally, Dr. Atassi worked as a Medical Director at Fresenius Medical Care North America from 2017 to 2020. Before that, they served as the Medical Director of Vascular Access Centers in 2011 and as the Medical Director and member of the board of directors at Associates In Nephrology, S.C. from 1993 to 2011.

Wadah Atassi, M.D., M.B.A. obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Damascus University from 1979 to 1985. In addition, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management from 2000 to 2002.
