Alexandra McKay has a diverse background in software engineering, programming, and business development. Alexandra began their career in 2007 as an Administrative Assistant at Conservation Services Group and a Paralegal Internship at Watson Law Offices. In 2008, they were a Residence Director at The Wellmet Project Inc. where they managed the daily operations of a psychiatric residential cooperative living program. From 2011 to 2017, they worked at RES Group Inc. as a Business Development Associate, where they were a member of the support team working on diverse engineering related projects and acted in partnership with the CEO to establish a variety of exploratory projects. In 2017, they joined Accenture as an Application Developer and also trained in the Iron Yard C# program. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Frontend Developer and QA Automation Engineer at Gooee and a QA Automation Engineer at Neptune Flood Insurance. During their time at Neptune, they were a Frontend QA testing team lead, utilized Cypress automation, exploratory, and manual testing to ensure function of the platform, and built out and maintained FE Cypress automation coverage. Alexandra also founded AICI in 2014, a unique English language immersion program targeted at Brazilian students.
Alexandra McKay received their BA in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College from 2004 to 2007. Alexandra also attended Richmond, The American International University in London from 2003 to 2004. In 2017, they obtained a Backend Development Certificate from The Iron Yard. In 2020, they obtained a Foundation for Successful Test Automation certification from TestAutomationU, and in 2017 they obtained a Backend Web Development certification from The Iron Yard.
