In 2012, they were the Controller for Navigator Lending Solutions, Inc., where they assisted in the development of the Pro-forma financials and developed and managed the monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and forecasts. In 2009, they were the National Director of Accounting for National Real Estate Ventures, directing all accounting, finance, and HR functions and managing the accounting department and portfolio of mortgages. In 2007, they were the President/Owner of Hartmann & Associates, Inc., where they developed and implemented comprehensive financial modeling, annual budgets, and provided monthly reports.

John Hartmann obtained their BBA in Management from The University of Texas at Arlington - College of Business between 1981 and 1992. Prior to that, they obtained a General Studies in Management from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock between 1980 and 1982. In June 2021, they obtained their Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from VMEdu Inc.
