Trevor McQueen, PhD

Co-founder and CEO at Neptune Fluid Flow Systems LLC

Trevor McQueen, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Trevor is currently the Co-Founder and GMAT Coach at APT Learning Services since September 2022.

In 2016, Trevor co-founded and served as the CEO of Neptune Fluid Flow Systems, a start-up focused on designing and manufacturing high-pressure fluid flow connectors and reservoirs for scientific user facilities. This role involved extensive chemical engineering, material science, and design work to improve the efficiency of protein crystallographic experiments.

From 2015, Trevor worked as an Adjunct Professor in Chemistry at Foothill-De Anza Community College District. In addition to teaching chemistry to college students, they managed a 3D printing laboratory and provided tutoring in various subjects.

Trevor also held research roles, such as being a Research Collaborator at UT Research Park's SPARK Innovation Center from September 2020 to July 2022, and a Technical Lead in the Innovation Crossroads Entrepreneurial Fellowship Program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from June 2019 to May 2021.

Trevor's earlier experiences include working as an Engineering Contractor at Stockholm University/SLAC in 2014 and as the CEO and Co-Founder of T2 Power Systems, a company focused on upgradeable infrastructure for smart homes, from August 2014 to October 2015.

During their time at Stanford University and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory from September 2009 to August 2014, Trevor served as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant. Trevor developed new X-ray techniques and instrumentations to study the atomic structure of pure liquid water under extreme conditions of high pressure and low temperature.

Trevor McQueen, PhD, completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physical Chemistry at Harvey Mudd College from 2005 to 2009. Trevor then pursued further education at Stanford University, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physical/Analytical Chemistry, graduating in 2014.
