Winnie Liang, PhD

Winnie Liang, PhD has a diverse range of work experience. Most recently, in 2022, they co-founded APT Learning Services and serves as a STEM Tutor/Coach. Prior to that, starting in 2021, they worked as a Freelance Business Consultant, Data Analyst, Market Researcher, and Science Writer.

From 2017 to the present, Winnie co-founded and served as the COO of Neptune Fluid Flow Systems LLC, a technical and engineering firm focused on sample integrity and stability during preparation, handling, delivery, and storage processes. Winnie has also held a position as Adjunct Faculty at Foothill College since 2015.

Furthermore, Winnie has worked as a Research Affiliate at the UT Spark Innovation Center from 2020 to 2022. In 2019, they were a Science Communication Fellow at Biotech Connection - Bay Area, Inc. and in 2018, they worked as a Material Characterization Postdoctoral Scholar at the Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis.

Winnie's earlier work experience includes being a Graduate Research Assistant at Stanford University from 2009 to 2017, where they conducted research and utilized various techniques such as magnetic susceptibility measurements, spectroscopy, and calculations. Prior to that, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of California, Berkeley, where they developed chromatography techniques for DNA-gold nanoparticle conjugates.

Winnie Liang, PhD, obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from Stanford University, where they studied from 2009 to 2017. Prior to that, they attended the University of California, Berkeley, from 2003 to 2008, attaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Biology. Apart from their academic qualifications, Winnie Liang has also pursued additional certifications. In May 2021, they completed the Women's Entrepreneurship program at eCornell. In September 2019, they completed the Inventor 3-Day Course at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Additionally, in January 2019, they obtained a certification in Business Writing Strategies from Lynda.com.
