Fernando Jiménez Latorre

Fernando Jiménez Latorre is currently the Director at NERA Economic Consulting. Fernando has held this position since 2014. Prior to this, they were the Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund from 2004-2011. In this role, they supervised the work of management and participated in the discussions and approval of Board decisions on bilateral and multilateral economic surveillance, loan programs, special papers, and so forth. Fernando coordinated and decided the positions of the constituency: Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.

At NERA Economic Consulting, Fernando Jiménez Latorre was responsible for chairing the Antitrust, Securities and Damages practices in the office of Madrid. In this role, they participated in numerous cases of Antitrust and Merger control in Spain, Portugal and EU jurisdictions, and testified to the different authorities. Many of those cases were in Energy, Telecom, and Retailing industries. Fernando also worked for companies such as Iberdrola, Gas Natural, Telefonica, France Telecom, Orange, BP, Cepsa, Sonae, Gas Natural, Banco Santander, Grupo Vocento. In addition, they testified on cases of damages in Antitrust and Securities in administrative and court jurisdiction, as well as in the International Court of Arbitration.

Fernando Jiménez Latorre has a degree in Economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a degree in Public Finance from the same school. Fernando also has a certification from the Spanish Government in Gran Cruz de Isabel la Catolica.
