Frances Collingborn

Lead, High Performance (research) Computing at NERC: Natural Environment Research Council

Frances Collingborn has extensive experience in research and high performance computing, currently serving as the Lead of High Performance (Research) Computing at the Natural Environment Research Council since July 2003. Prior roles include Head of High Performance Computing and High Performance Computing Manager at the same organization, along with a brief tenure as a Programme Manager at BBSRC, overseeing programs related to endemic diseases of farmed animals and the DFID/BBSRC Crops Initiative. Frances has also held positions as a Trials Officer with Arable Research Centres, an Intern at Lone Star Growers, a Farmer in a dairy and sheep operation, and a Research Assistant at the University of Reading. Frances holds a PhD in Plant Nematology and an MSc in Crop Protection from the University of Reading, a BSc (Hons) in Crop Science/Resource Management from the University of Bath, and is currently pursuing a degree in Plant Pathology at Institut superieur agricole de Beauvais.
