Bahareh Eftekharzadeh

Director of Discovery Biology and High Throughput Screening at Nereid Therapeutics

Bahareh Eftekharzadeh's work experience begins in 2011 when they started their PhD at IRB Barcelona. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Visiting Research Fellow at Cambridge University Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. Bahareh then joined Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from 2015 to 2018.

In 2018, Bahareh worked as a Summer Fellow at both Harvard Extension School, where they focused on venture capital and start-up companies, and HBX | Harvard Business School, where they completed a certificate program in Entrepreneurship Essentials.

Bahareh then transitioned to the industry and joined Neuron23 Inc. in 2018 as a Senior Scientist. At Neuron23, they played a significant role as part of the founding team and second employee, contributing to the development of small molecule therapies for genetically-defined neurological diseases.

In 2020, they joined Flagship Pioneering as a Principal Scientist before moving to Nereid Therapeutics later that year. At Nereid Therapeutics, they currently hold the position of Director of Discovery Biology and High Throughput Screening.

Throughout their career, Bahareh has demonstrated a strong commitment to scientific research and entrepreneurship in the biotech and healthcare industries.

Bahareh Eftekharzadeh has an extensive education history. Bahareh obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Structural Biology from the Universitat de Barcelona, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Biomedicine at the same institution from 2011 to 2012.

Earlier in their academic journey, Bahareh pursued a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences between 2003 and 2009. Additionally, they hold a Licentiate degree in Natural Sciences from the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents, although the specific start and end years for this degree are not provided.

Furthermore, Bahareh has obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills. Bahareh received a certificate in Calculus from the University of Sydney in November 2022. In July 2022, they completed the Management Essentials program from Harvard Business School Online. Prior to that, in January 2022, they completed a certification in Organizational Leadership from Harvard Business School Online. In 2018, Bahareh obtained a certificate in Entrepreneurship Essentials from HBX | Harvard Business School.
