Ryan Nessing

Harboring a passion for design since childhood, before starting his career, Ryan Nessing, a Connecticut native, staged his own Grand Tour, a sojourn in continental Europe, where he gained exposure to fine Western art, architecture and culture before returning to the U.S. and settling in New York City. With a sharpened eye and more focused design sense, he embarked on dedicating his life to decorating.

Under the mentorship and training of Harry Parkin Saunders, the late accomplished interior designer who worked with the likes of Edsel B. Ford II, great-grandson of Henry Ford, renowned financier Theodore J. Forstmann and noted philanthropist the late David Koch, Mr. Nessing honed his skills, rising quickly through the ranks at H. Parkin Saunders Inc. to become the senior VP of Operations and Design, while decorating and renovating spaces for clients large and small.

Mr. Nessing’s talent for design and keen eye for selecting furniture, accessories, artwork and textiles, have allowed him to create beautiful and functional spaces for residential and commercial clients in New York City, Connecticut, The Hamptons, Nantucket, Palm Beach, and the prestigious Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. His professional reputation and accomplishments led to him serving on the design committee for the International Fine Art Antique Dealers Show, Winter Antiques Show, and Kips Bay Decorator Show House with some of New York's most respected designers.

From conceiving building interiors to sourcing furnishings and antiques to overseeing the craftsmanship of custom furniture, Mr. Nessing can handle projects of virtually any style, whether contemporary, traditional or eclectic—blending classic elements with modern details. His creativity, artistic vision and exceptional taste are appreciated by his clients, and Mr. Nessing believes that intuitive listening, clarity of expression, and the ability to translate clients’ ideas and needs into practical solutions are essential skills that a successful designer must possess. He takes pride in delivering exceptional results, no matter the scope or budget of a given project.
