Richard Smith has extensive experience in the healthcare and medical device sectors, currently serving as Senior Vice President at the National Evaluation System for health Technology Coordinating Center (NESTcc) and holding various roles within the NESTcc Initiative since November 2020. Prior to this, Richard was the Director of Translational Research at The Hartwell Foundation from April 2011 to October 2020, where responsibilities included guiding research translation for pediatric healthcare advancements. Richard also founded Tutela Industries, focusing on healthcare technology incubation, and served as CEO of BrainZ Instruments, commercializing neonatal brain research. A lengthy tenure at GE HealthCare, spanning from October 1985 to October 2005, included roles from Sales Representative to General Manager. Richard holds an MBA from Loyola University Maryland and pursued studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
