Jiayu Shao is currently a Summer Undergraduate Research Program Scholar at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Securities Analyst for the Marshal L. Salant Investment Team, where management of a $270,000 long-only equity portfolio has resulted in a 13.4% CAGR, significantly outperforming the S&P 500. In addition, Jiayu serves as a Research Assistant at The Johns Hopkins University, focusing on a project that investigates the brain region associated with navigational affordances. Previous roles include Account Executive for the JHU American Marketing Association, leading a team to develop social media marketing strategies, and a Summer Research Student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, studying the role of proteases in E. coli cell metabolism. Jiayu holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University.
