Elena Mariani

Elena Mariani is a Principal Data Scientist at Nesta since October 2021, previously holding the position of Senior Analyst. Prior experience includes roles at Pearson as Senior Researcher and Senior Statistician from September 2017 to October 2021, and at the Department for Education as a Statistical Officer from September 2016 to September 2017. Elena also served as a PHD Candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from September 2013 to June 2017, and as a Visiting Researcher at DIW Berlin in mid-2015. Earlier in career, Elena was an Intern at the European Citizen Action Service in 2011. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Demography and Population Studies, multiple Master’s Degrees in Social Research Methods, European Social Policy, and Economics, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Università Bocconi. Additionally, an exchange program in Economics was completed at the University of Virginia in 2009.
