Waqar Ahmed

Waqar Ahmed has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Waqar currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at Nester, a role they assumed in March 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Business Operations at Nester from February 2021 to March 2022.

Before joining Nester, Waqar worked at QIB (UK) from 2015 to 2020, where they held various roles. Waqar started as a Real Estate Operations and Transaction Control Manager from April 2015 to January 2017, handling the end-to-end transaction management and processing of real estate deals. Later, they were promoted to the position of Senior Manager, Credit & Risk Administration & Transaction Management from February 2017 to August 2020. In this role, they established and managed the Credit and Risk Administration Department, developed policies and procedures, and implemented change management processes.

Waqar has also worked at ABC International Bank plc (now Bank ABC) from 2004 to 2015. During their tenure, they held the position of AVP, Transaction and Relationship Management from June 2009 to April 2015, where they managed Shariah-compliant real estate and corporate finance transactions. Additionally, they served as a Sales and Marketing Manager from March 2004 to June 2009.

Their earlier work experience includes roles at Cibernet Solutions as a Relationship Officer, Coutts as a Client Service Officer, Citi as an Operations Clerk, HSBC as a Customer Services Officer, and Aina Khan Solicitors as a Legal Assistant.

Waqar Ahmed completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Interdisciplinary Studies (Major Arabic) from the University of Westminster, from 1993 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Sir George Monoux VI Form from 1991 to 1993, where they pursued 'A' Levels. Before their time at Sir George Monoux, Waqar studied at Kelmscott School from 1986 to 1991 and completed their GCSE's.
