Engineer

Robert Edwards is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the manufacturing sector, particularly in the food and beverage industry. Beginning a career at Goldfields from January 1983 to February 1993 as a Junior Engineer, Robert completed an apprenticeship and pursued higher education in mechanical engineering. From February 1993, Robert worked at Nestlé S.A., initially as a project engineer in the chocolate and confectionery factory before advancing to engineering manager in the ice cream factory, overseeing significant equipment upgrades and product development. As Chief Engineer at Nestle from January 2008 to July 2017, responsibilities included managing engineering operations across seven factories in South Africa. Robert's academic qualifications include a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a National Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, Robert is self-employed and retired as of July 2023.
