Franklin Orndorff-Plunkett

Director of Research & Development at NESTRE

Franklin Orndorff-Plunkett has held various positions in the fields of research and development, functional brain health, business development, teaching, and engineering. In 2021, they began their current role as Director of Research & Development at NESTRE Health and Performance. In 2020, they provided private consulting in functional brain health. That same year, they also held the position of Research Associate, Business Developer & Writer at T.I. Medical Ventures & The Center for Research on Addiction & Brain Health. From 2015-2020, Franklin worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of California San Diego, where they reviewed lecture materials in classroom settings and provided office hours to students. In 2014, they were an Assistant Teacher at Engineering for Kids (SE-OC parent company). In 2013, they were a PREP Scholar at the University of New Mexico, where they collaborated in the search for differences between MEG signatures of schizophrenia patients. In 2012, they were an Engineering Intern (MISTI Brazil) at Fundação CERTI. In 2011, they were an REU Physics Intern at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2010 and 2009, they were a Student Technical Intern at Sandia National Laboratories, where they completed a parameter study of the Z Machine simulation project and found a new baseline optimum for device function.

Franklin Orndorff-Plunkett attended the Albuquerque Academy from 2000 to 2007 and then went on to obtain a Science Bachelors in Physics with a Political Philosophy Concentration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2007 to 2012. In 2017, they began a Doctor of Philosophy at UC San Diego in Cognitive Science, but withdrew before completing the degree. Franklin is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Cognitive Science at UC San Diego.
