Alexander Heimel is a highly experienced neuroscientist with a long tenure at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience, where roles have included group leader, senior scientist, and postdoctoral researcher since 2004. Prior to this, Alexander worked as a research fellow in neurobiology at Brandeis from 2001 to 2003. Academic credentials include a PhD in Applied Mathematics from King's College London (1998-2001) and an MSc in Mathematics and Physics from Utrecht University (1993-1998). Alexander also demonstrated leadership skills as an active member and chair of the Study Association A-Eskwadraat from 1993 to 1998 and completed the Gymnasium program at OSG Schoonoord (1987-1993).
