Ingólfur Haraldsson is the Senior Manager, Emergency Preparedness & Response at [NetHope](/org/nethope). Ingólfur has a long history of working in emergency services, starting as a Liaison Officer at ICE-SAR in 2004. Ingólfur then spent 6 years as a TETRA specialist at the 112 Emergency Coordination Centre before moving to their current position at [NetHope](/org/nethope).

With Indian/Dutch roots, Esha van der Hulst-Haldar started her career with KPMG in 1993 as Certified Public Auditor specialized in multinationals and business advice such as implementation of ERP systems and mergers and acquisitions due diligence. In 1999, she took additional roles on like becoming the first focal point on safeguarding and discrimination.

For 20+ years Esha  has been ultimately responsible for operational, change, information and data and financial management with Government (Dutch Ministry of Education), Large NGOs like COA and Oxfam.

In 2006 Esha became Head of the Education Information Department with the Dutch Government,  implementing a new data strategy to share high quality education data via  a data warehouse and portals with stakeholders such as all parents and all schools and universities in The Netherlands.

From 2008 up to  2020 Esha worked for Oxfam in various roles like Chair of the Finance Directors, Change Director and as Global COO for Oxfam International since April 2017. Her  role was to lead the execution of Oxfam’s 2020 strategy together with Oxfam International Management team and member organization management teams. This included the merger of country teams in over 50 program countries into One Oxfam reaching over 25 million people, supporting new Oxfam’s like Oxfam Turkey to join as members and design and implementation of collective funding mechanisms to enable this transformation. Esha was also one of the leaders ensuring that Oxfam improved its ways of working on safeguarding via a 10 step action plan globally after the Haiti inquiries.

In June 2020, Esha took the next step in this journey and joined War Child as Director Shared Operations to implement a multi locational  shared platform including shared power with people from various countries like Burundi and Lebanon.  Also she helped to scale the on line education program Can’t Wait to Learn to all children in and outside Ukrain impacted by war before the start of this new schoolyear in September.

From 2008 onwards Esha joined various Boards like the Board of Triple Jump and ICDI. With Triple Jump she kept oversight on the scaling journey from 50 million funds available for microfinance up to over 500 million funds.

Esha earned her MBA from Erasmus University Rotterdam and accomplished additional courses like International Economics via the London School of Economics and change management via Harvard Business School. She regularly serves as a women mentor and  keynote speaker in networks like NetHope.

Katharine Brown is the current Vice Chair at [NetHope](/org/nethope). Katharine has over 25 years of experience in business process engineering and operations management. Brown has held various positions at [Bank of America](/org/bank-of-america) Merrill Lynch and [Bank of America](/org/bank-of-america). Katharine was Vice President, Operations Manager, Global HR Shared Services at [Bank of America](/org/bank-of-america) from 1994 to 2010. In this role, they were responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the global HR shared services team. In 2010, they joined [Bank of America](/org/bank-of-america) Merrill Lynch as Senior Vice President, Business Process Engineering - EMEA Global Wholesale Bank Tech & Ops. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of business process engineers in the EMEA region. In 2012, they joined VSO as Head of Global IT. In this role, they were responsible for creating and implementing the IT strategy for VSO.

Katharine Brown has a Bachelor of Science in Modern Languages (German, French) from Aston University. Katharine is certified by [NetHope](/org/nethope) as a NETHOPE Virtual Global Summit 2020 Delegate and by Credly as a NETHOPE Regional Chapter 2021 Lead.

Steve is seasoned IT professional with more than 25 years experience in telecoms and humanitarian sectors with honed experience in leadership, global operations and digital business transformation.

Prior to joining WWF International recently, Steve served in World Vision International for 15 years in various global leadership roles.

His vast professional experience has taken him to nearly 50 countries across the world, utilizing technology and digital solutions to enable health, education and other development programs as well as supporting global emergency responses to help change the lives of those in need.

An ardent supporter of NetHope, Steve engaged directly and indirectly with NetHope throughout his 15-year tenure at World Vision International, one of the founding member agencies. He was a founding member of the NetHope Africa Chapter, where he served as the first Vice President. He also played a pivotal role in the establishment of NetHope Academy in Kenya.

Steve holds Masters and Bachelors degrees in Computer Science from University of Nairobi; Executive Education Program certificates from HaaS Business School, University of California Berkeley and MIT Sloan School of Management in addition to various IT professional certifications.

Stephen Ciirah

Originally from Hawaii, Sarah Angel-Johnson was hired by IBM in 1997 as a software engineer and coded IBM’s first e-commerce website. In 1999, she moved into a diversity program manager role to stand up IBM’s first diversity councils and employee affinity groups. Following that role, she quickly became a change agent integrating technology and business and one of IBM’s youngest female executives, leading 25,000 team members, managing seven global labs, and driving $1.7 billion in revenue.

In 2014, she made a career decision to move to nonprofit and transform the $860 million Girl Scout Cookie Program – taking it digital! The launch of “Digital Cookie” garnered 4 billion media impressions with Sarah quoted in the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and more, as well as recognitions that included a place in Fast Company’s Top 10 Most Innovative Nonprofits. Following Girl Scouts, she joined Year Up as CIO to empower young adults to reach their potential through careers and higher education and was recognized as CIO of the Year by InspireCIO for human-centered design and data-driven outcomes.

Sarah is passionate about delivering social impact at scale and was honored with a U.S. Congressional Award for her work with underserved youth. In November 2020, Sarah took the next step in this journey and joined Save the Children as CIO to apply her 20+ years of expertise in business transformation, digital innovation, and operational integration to make a difference in over 100 million children’s lives per year in over 100 countries.

Sarah earned her MBA from Cornell University, BS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Gold Award from Girl Scouts of the USA. She regularly serves as a motivational keynote speaker and on multiple governing boards, including United Nations Association. She is also an active entrepreneur, owning a performing arts coffeehouse and establishing a salsa dance studio after retiring from being a professional salsa dancer.

Sarah Angel-Johnson

Sibel Berzeg has more than 20 years’ experience designing, managing and evaluating a wide range of governance, civil society, media and cross-sectoral programs spanning the Middle East, Eurasia, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa. Sibel brings to [Counterpart](/org/yourcounterpart) the valuable perspective of having worked for USAID, and for the private and non-profit sectors on international development programs, and has worked in and visited more than 100 countries. Sibel has eight years of field-based leadership experience (COP and Regional Director) in seven countries in the former Soviet Union and Kosovo. Her field-based management experience includes leading more than 130 expatriate and local staff on 50 projects in five countries. From HQ Sibel has managed 25+ simultaneous field programs and more than 350 global staff across some 36 countries, with oversight of multiple teams simultaneously, including New Business Development, Program Implementation and Program Quality and Learning.

At Present, Sibel serves as the Vice President of Program Excellence and Acquisitions for [Counterpart](/org/yourcounterpart) International. In this role Sibel is responsible for growing [Counterpart](/org/yourcounterpart)’s revenue and developing new business lines to expand the reach of [Counterpart](/org/yourcounterpart) programs; and developing the organization’s growth strategy in partnership with senior leadership. Sibel oversees all of [Counterpart](/org/yourcounterpart)’s field programs, ensuring that they are aligned with the organization’s values, mission, strategic goals and achieve the highest impact. She works to build strong partnerships with donors and peer organizations to ensure that the stakeholders of our programs are actively engaged and providing feedback that drives program innovation. Sibel’s main focus is to ensure that [Counterpart](/org/yourcounterpart)’s bids and field programs are continuously strengthened through new tools and approaches that ensure timely and impactful results.

As vCISO, James leads on work housed in [NetHope](/org/nethope)'s Digital Protection Program, supporting Members with their Cyber Security, Privacy, and Responsible Data challenges through a mixture of interventions and service offerings.

Farhan Irshad is currently the Board Chair at [NetHope](/org/nethope). Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at [HIAS](/org/hias) from April 2014 to January 2022. In this role, they provided executive-level leadership, oversight, direction and organization of internal operations and systems covering administration, finance, human resources and information technology. Farhan also collaborated with Executive Team members to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of all intersectional processes and install quality checks that ensure optimal performance.

Irshad has also served as the Finance Director International Programs at Save the Children from March 2006 to March 2014, and as the Director of Finance and Administration at Save the Children US from May 2000 to February 2006.

Farhan is a highly accomplished financial executive with over 20 years of experience in progressively responsible positions in the nonprofit sector. Farhan is a strategic thinker with a track record of successful program and organizational growth. Farhan has a proven ability to develop and implement effective financial management systems and controls. Farhan is an expert in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting with a demonstrated commitment to accountability and transparency.

Danusia Dzierzbinski is the current Board Treasurer at [NetHope](/org/nethope). Danusia has over 20 years of experience in financial management and accounting.

Danusia began their career at KPMG US as a Senior Accountant. Danusia then moved to Save the Children US as the Associate Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the organization's budget and producing monthly management reports.

In 2006, Danusia joined the [International Rescue Committee](/org/international-rescue-committee) as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer. In this role, they managed a team of finance professionals and was responsible for all aspects of the organization's financial management. Danusia also conducted training sessions for finance staff and directors both in the US and internationally.

Danusia has a proven track record in financial management and is an expert in budgeting, reporting, and training. Danusia is a valuable asset to any organization.

Richard Pichler is currently the Director at [NetHope](/org/nethope), and they have been with the company since 2016. Prior to that, they were with Joining Forces - for all Children from April 2010 to December 2020, where they served as the Co-Convener. Richard also has experience with the International Civil Society Centre, where they were a Board Member from April 2010 to December 2015. Richard Pichler has dedicated their career to helping others and making a positive impact on the world.

Liz Bronder has served as the Director at [NetHope](/org/nethope) since February 2020. Prior to their current position, Liz was the Chief Executive Officer (Interim) at [NetHope](/org/nethope) from February 2020 to December 2020. During their time as CEO, Liz restructured the organization, developed a new Back to Basics Better strategy and achieved financial sustainability. Leading the organization through the response to COVID required a complete shift to digital including the virtual delivery of Regional Chapter meetings in Africa, Latin America and North America, and the successful Annual Summit which attracted participants from 82 countries.

Before their time at [NetHope](/org/nethope), Liz served as the Senior Advisor, Innovative Finance at [UN Women](/org/un-women) from February 2020 to May 2021. In this role, Liz focused on creating a gender and SDG bond market including 1. alignment with SDG and social bond Principles, 2. working with individual countries to identify SDG programs underpinning bond issuance, and 3. building high level partnerships across the UN, multilateral and regional development banks, donor countries, capital markets investors and underwriters, and Ministers of Finance. Liz was a senior contributor to the UN policy recommendations and process around Financing for Development at UNGA 2020, as well as Finance in Common led by the French Development Agency (AFD).

Jerry Montgomery is the current Senior Director of Field and Impact Programs at [NetHope](/org/nethope). Prior to this, Jerry worked as the Senior Program Manager at Macfadden from September 2020 to July 2022. In this role, Jerry supervised 8 managers and 20 direct reports while supporting program implementation and ensuring programs and projects were implemented aligned with client expectations and requirements. Jerry has a knack for building strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive tangible results. 

Throughout Jerry's career, they have managed three 5-year support service task orders valued at $900M, including administrative oversight of information technology (IT), contracts, recruiting, training unit, M&A, and facilities for Office of Transition Initiatives and Bureau of Humanitarian Affairs (USAID). Jerry has also worked closely with a team of 60 Personal Service Contractors (PSCs); managing a process improvement project to develop and implement a Tableau tracking system that monitored and reduced recruitment timelines from 180 days to 60. In addition, Jerry coached and mentored 150 team members and strengthened staff performance by approximately 25%, implementing communication cadence protocols, measurable KPIs, and performance planning. By creating a culture of psychological safety within their department, Jerry promoted open, constructive talent engagement, developing trust through development programs.

Robyn Baroh is currently the Deputy Director of Engagement at [NetHope](/org/nethope). Robyn has previous experience working in donor support and event coordination. At [United Way of King County](/org/united-way-of-king-county), they served as the Donor Support Supervisor for Major Gifts and was responsible for donor information management and facilitating major gifts processing. Robyn also supervised two Team Assistants and was the Development Department’s CRM lead and Donor Support liaison for Major Gifts, Pledge Processing, and IT. Baroh is skilled in project management, process improvement, and data information systems.

Seth Otto is the current Digital Communications Manager at [NetHope](/org/nethope). Seth has over five years of experience in communications and marketing, with a focus on graphic design, web design, and event planning. Prior to their current position, Seth was the Division Manager for Britescape, where they launched and branded a successful holiday lighting division. Seth also served as the Marketing and Communications Manager, developing marketing strategies for online and in-person events. In addition, Seth has experience as a product designer, designing and pricing holiday lighting installation packages for high-end clientele. Seth also has experience in graphic design, designing all print and promotional materials including business cards, brochures, mailers, and trade show banners. Finally, Seth has experience as an Installation Crew Manager, managing staff schedules and interviewing/hiring lighting installation FTEs and surge-support workers.

Molly Gascoigne joined NetHope in August 2022 with nearly 20 years of leadership experience raising funds, creating innovative programs, and bringing to life the missions of organizations of all sizes by sharing stories of impact. At NetHope she is responsible for relationships and engagement with the philanthropic community and NetHope’s supporters.

Prior to joining NetHope, Molly was the Director of Development at the ASCRS Foundation, where she led development, marketing and communications, and program development to deliver humanitarian eyecare around the world. Her previous experience includes service at a variety of organizations, including the Alzheimer’s Association, United Nations Foundation and several other patient advocacy organizations serving both in headquarters and field-based roles. 

With a heart for people, Molly enjoys building meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, corporate leaders, and the community. She is a frequent speaker and trainer at local, regional, and national conferences and organizations. With a history of serving organizations in professional and volunteer capacities, Molly is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those that need it most.

Alison Krupnick has worked at the intersection of government, media, and the nonprofit sector as a diplomat, economic development professional, reporter, editor, and communications director, and as a strategic communications consultant for business.

As a Foreign Service officer with the U.S. Department of State, she served in India, worked in a refugee resettlement program in Thailand and Vietnam, and was Country Officer for Sri Lanka and Maldives and Political-Military Officer for Egypt. She served as Emerging Markets Program Manager for the Washington State Department of Commerce and managed the Washington State Trade Office in Vladivostok, Russia. 

In the education sector, she covered regional and national education news as a reporter and editor, served as editorial director for a research and policy center, developed fundraising communications for a large, public university, and served as Marketing and Communications Director for a college access program serving underrepresented students.

An active volunteer, she launched a regional Solutions Journalism community, and has served in leadership roles at several schools and on two nonprofit Boards. Her writing has been published in a variety of newspapers, magazines, and literary journals.

Craig Molyneaux joined MSH as the Chief Financial Officer in 2017where he plays a broad and strategic leadership role in the organization’s overall growth and development. He serves as financial advisor and partner to the CEO, leadership team, the board of directors and its audit and finance committees on matters relating to financial status, risk management, and long–term planning.

Craig works on aspects related to strategy, policies, operations, annual work planning, systems strengthening, and performance management. In close collaboration with MSH’s country offices,he also provides management oversight and ensures quality and continual improvement of day–to–day financial operations and systems, including budgeting, accounting, cash management, auditing, donor reporting, and contracts and grants management.

Craig comes to MSH with more than 30 years of financial management experience, having held CFO roles in diverse business environments, including public, private, venture–backed, and non–profit organizations. He spent 25 of those years in a variety of financial management roles with Siemens. Craig holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from [Colorado State University](/org/colorado-state-university).

Scott is a Senior Technology Executive with a strong background in global IT for development that is rooted in a life-long goal to achieve social impact.

He is currently the Global Chief Information Officer and partnership leader for technology and digital at [World Vision](/org/world-vision-development-foundation-inc-world-vision-philippines), where he leads a diverse IT team in nearly 100 countries focused on improving the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children through the transformative use of digital and technology. Prior to joining [World Vision](/org/world-vision-development-foundation-inc-world-vision-philippines), Scott was VP of Global IT for [Conservation International](/org/conservation-international), an NGO that protects the world’s natural resources to improve human well-being. Scott’s other senior leadership roles include CIO, VP of IT at AED (now part of [FHI 360](/org/fhi-360)) where he led a global IT transformation encompassing over 80 countries.

Scott’s extensive international development experience has taken him to over 75 countries across the world utilizing technology to enable health, education, and conservation programs to help change the lives of those in need. Apart from working in the development sector, Scott’s early professional experiences included being the first Executive Director of IT at Trinity College, an All-Women’s Catholic University in Washington D.C., where he utilized technology to raise the level of learning and engagement for students and faculty alike.

Dianna Langley joined [NetHope](/org/nethope) in July 2020, and before this has more than 9 years of experience in user and community management in the not-for-profit sector. As [NetHope](/org/nethope)’s Senior Director of Engagement, Dianna is responsible for driving deep member engagement and for facilitating collaboration amongst members, partners, and other actors. This entails understanding our members’ missions and priorities, ideating with them to identify transformation activities, and facilitating the creation of programs to drive those activities. Dianna and the team work to create great virtual collaboration spaces for [NetHope](/org/nethope) staff, its members, it partners and others to achieve [NetHope](/org/nethope)'s mission and facilitate members ambitions. In her previous role as Head of Digital Workplace for [Oxfam](/org/oxfam), Dianna was globally responsible for heading the design, deployment and best use of [Oxfam](/org/oxfam)’s Digital Workplace that delivered capabilities and tools to users worldwide while nurturing and upholding [Oxfam](/org/oxfam)’s values. Dianna started with [Oxfam](/org/oxfam) in 2011 as a user support technician, then as Global Internal Communications Manager from 2014, and eventually to head the Digital Workplace program in 2016. By 2020 the Digital Workplace was serving over 10,000 staff and 20,000 volunteers with common file sharing, intranet, enterprise social, e-signatures, workflow automation solutions, and shared user identity services. Dianna also held positions on [Oxfam](/org/oxfam)'s key global IT governance bodies, notably in Information and Data Protection, and Live Shared Services. Dianna was part of the team that produced [Oxfam](/org/oxfam)'s Global Strategic Framework for 2030. She was awarded the DWG Digital Workplace Leader of the Year in 2019, was a member of the Box Product Advisory Board from 2018-2020 and has spoken at multiple industry events on the collaborative future of work.

Dianna Langley

As the Head of Emerging Technologies Initiative at [NetHope](/org/nethope), Leila leads strategic efforts focused on enabling the nonprofit community to design and use technologies like AI, digital identity, blockchain and others in an impactful and ethical way to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Most recently, she led capacity building in AI and AI ethics and developed two toolkits in collaboration with [NetHope](/org/nethope) members, USAID and MIT D-Lab. 

Leila also serves as a subject-matter expert on education in emergencies, with the focus on children and youth impacted by displacement. She leads EdTech Collective, a coalition of global NGOs, focused on digital education and work for youth in Africa. Between 2017-2019, Leila led a task force for the No Lost Generation (NLG) initiative, a coalition of 30+ UN / NGO agencies) that brought together UN, NGO, private sector, academia, government stakeholders to develop innovative learning and work solutions for conflict-affected youth in the Middle East and North Africa. 

Prior to [NetHope](/org/nethope), Leila spent 15 years in leadership roles in the technology sector (Microsoft, Adobe) and at social enterprise startups (Samasource, LRNG) working at the intersection of technology and society.  

Leila frequently writes and speaks on the topics of AI, ethics, and education. She was named 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2021 and serves as an Advisor to several technology startups, SxSW EDU, and UNESCO's Global Declaration on Connectivity for Education.

Leila Toplic

Anne joined NetHope in August of 2022 as the Finance Manager. She offers over 18 years of experience in not-for-profit finance and accounting. Most recently Anne served as the Director of Finance and Operations for the Laudato Si Movement. In her current role with NetHope, she manages and supports all finance functions for the organization.

Anne hails from the Washington, DC metropolitan area where she is active in the local theater community.

Anne Vandercook

As the Relationship Manager for NetHope’s Center for the Digital Nonprofit, Rhoda Ohito is responsible for ensuring timely engagement with internal and external stakeholders. She also oversees the refinement, design and integration of communication and workflow systems and processes for effective information flow. 

Prior to joining NetHope, Rhoda spent 14 years working in the international development sector as a manager and senior advisor. Her work assignments over the past decade plus have been with US Government agencies (USAID, Department of State and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) implementing the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the largest commitment by any nation to address a single disease in history. She developed and oversaw programs and partnerships on behalf of PEPFAR in collaboration with US and host government staff and officials in Botswana, Rwanda and Zambia, as well as colleagues and leadership at Global Fund, UNAIDS, World Bank, GIZ, and DFID among other multilateral and bilateral funders. She has also served in senior management positions in the public health and philanthropic sectors in Minnesota.

Rhoda began her career working with grassroots community organizations in Minnesota, serving low income and minority populations. She is an alum of the James P. Shannon Leadership Institute, a certified Project Management Professional and a graduate of the University of Minnesota where she earned both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MPH in Public Health Administration & Policy. Rhoda is usually found physically present in Minnesota with occasional rendezvous to locales that tug on her heartstrings.

Charlie Higgins became NetHope’s Director of Disaster Preparedness & Response in July 2022. This culminates a long and winding career path starting with Hamleys Toy Shop, passing through the British Army, the civil services of the UK and New Zealand governments, 7 UN agencies and NGOs, an international development consultancy, and the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. His most recent appointment was as Head of Middle East & North Africa for the Danish Red Cross where he oversaw projects and managed relationships with partners and donors in this conflict prone region. Program management roles mainly in humanitarian response, disaster preparedness, recovery and resilience have taken him in a roughly westerly direction from the Pacific, through the Far East, South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, ending up in Lebanon where he lived with his family for most of the past 13 years, finally returning home to the South of England in 2022. Before his military training at Sandhurst and the Royal School of Military Engineering, he got an MA in History at St. Andrews University, having spent most of his time mountaineering.

Leshan Sancha is a Project Manager at [NetHope](/org/nethope). In this capacity, Leshan has a responsibility of directing, organizing and controlling project activities. He accomplishes project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities, coordinating staff and contractors and ensuring quality output is delivered on all projects.

Leshan joined [NetHope](/org/nethope) in June 2022. He is a project management expert with over 9 years’ experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development programs with advance expertise in OVC, education, health, livelihood including saving group management and WASH projects.

Prior to joining [NetHope](/org/nethope), Leshan provided management of Compassion International project and various USAID funded projects. Leshan earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from Egerton University in Kenya.

Katherine Behrens is an experienced association leader with over 10 years of executive level finance and operations experience. Most recently she was the Member Programs Executive at Urban Libraries Council (ULC) where she led program development to address the changing needs of members and increase member collaboration. She also served as the association’s Finance and Administration Executive. Prior to ULC she was the Chief Operating Officer at Educational Research Service where she led business strategy development, partnerships, and overall association operations. She has dedicated her career to non-profits working to create equity through access. Katherine has a Bachelor of Business Administration from LeMoyne College and a Master of Business Administration from George Mason University.

Priscilla is a digital transformation strategist and ICT4D expert, with experience in technology and innovation spanning almost two decades, in over fifty countries and five continents, and in both emergency and development contexts. Highly skilled in both technical expertise and strategy development and implementation, with a demonstrated history of using forward-looking technology tools and data to accelerate the achievement of project and program results in non-profit organizations. She has worked with various organizations including the World Food Program, UNICEF, DanChurchAid and ActionAid International.

Priscilla Chomba

Ray Short is the Director of Institutional Partnerships/GBI Chief of Party at [NetHope](/org/nethope). Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Global Innovation Advisor at the Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) from January 2016 to December 2018. In this role, they advised the organization on program management, program development, and long-term strategy to improve the impact of technology programming supporting human rights activists and journalists worldwide. 

During their time at IWPR, Ray Short transformed cybersecurity and IT programming targeting women in Latin America and the Middle East by leveraging community and technology developer feedback to increase the organization’s global impact. Ray also negotiated partnerships with private sector organizations (including Google and Facebook), leading to the development of customized products for at-risk activists, including Google uProxy and Project Shield. In addition, they expanded training and technical assistance programming targeting vulnerable, often ignored populations (including LGBT, women, and religious minorities). Ray also developed new, more scalable monitoring and evaluation tools that dramatically improved data capture and analysis while reducing stakeholder bias. Lastly, they led program development efforts via grant proposals to the US State Department, DFID, and USAID.

Ray Short attended Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs, where they received a Master of International & Public Affairs with a focus on Economic Policy & Development. Prior to that, they obtained a Diplôme de Français from Université de Bourgogne in France. Ray also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington in Communication and Media Studies.

Prior to this, they were the director of ice sar search and rescue school at ice sar from October 2011 to April 2018. From April 2007 to November 2012, they were a project manager at míla ehf. And before that, they were a project manager at siminn from January 2004 to April 2007.

Lance Pierce is the CEO of NetHope. Lance has a distinguished track record as a leader of organizations that have made a positive, measurable and widely recognized impact in sustainable development, corporate responsibility, sustainable investing and climate change.

His leadership roles over the past decade include President of CDP North America (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), the world’s largest platform for investors, corporations and cities to share data, manage performance and build action programs on climate change, clean energy, water stewardship, forests and sustainable supply chains.  He developed and oversaw strategic initiatives and partnerships on behalf of CDP around the world with senior leadership at the United Nations, World Bank, and large corporate and government partners in Europe, Canada and the United States.  During his tenure he more than doubled the size and presence of the North America organization.  He also served as Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of leading investor and corporate sustainability organization, Ceres, where he oversaw policy, programs and strategic planning, launched signature program initiatives, and co-founded the $22 trillion Global Investor Coalition of the world’s largest asset owners and asset managers, which went on to actively support passage of the United Nations Paris Climate Agreement.

Lance has been an executive in corporate social responsibility as well as in the IT sector.  In CSR and corporate public affairs, he served as Director, Corporate Issues Management for former Fortune 11 food and consumer goods company, Altria Group, providing strategic decision support for the company’s senior leadership on human rights, consumer and marketplace issues, and economic impact in supply chains.  In the IT sector he was a consultant to global consumer brands developing digital products and strategies: first as Strategy Director and global account executive at Agency.com, an internationally award winning consultancy and at the time the world’s largest interactive agency; and later as President, Global Development for Asia- and UK-based IT and professional services firm, ADEC Innovations, where he was also Head of Sustainable Finance and UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) partnerships for the ADEC Foundation.

Lance began his career working with leading international organizations and the United Nations Development Programme as an advisor on strategic program development and South-South cooperation for better and more equitable stakeholder impact.  He has worked directly in lower income communities in the United States and served internationally as a US Peace Corps volunteer.

Lance is a Senior Program Fellow at the Harvard Corporate Responsibility Initiative; Executive Advisor at the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship; Senior Advisor in the Sustainable Finance Cluster, Center for Global Sustainability at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy; Council of Fellows member for Australia-based EverGreening Alliance, an umbrella organization of the largest development, conservation and agricultural organizations focused on land restoration, rural development, carbon drawdown and nature-based climate solutions; and a US board member of Helvetas, the oldest and largest international relief and development organization in Switzerland.  He is a former board member of Ceres, serving alongside the CEOs of North America’s largest pension funds, US state treasurers and national environmental leaders, and a former Track Advisor to the Clinton Global Initiative.  Lance is a co-author of Harvard Business School case studies on change management and executive leadership.  He was tapped by leading HBS faculty to serve as the Launch Director for the startup phase of the Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative, a university-wide interdisciplinary program for high-level global entrepreneurship in support of new philanthropic, social enterprise, impact investing and sustainability ventures.

Lance has been a speaker at The White House and on Capitol Hill, at high level industry, investor and civil society conferences, SXSW, World Economic Forum sanctioned events, and the UN framework climate negotiations, among others.  He has appeared in global media including CNN, Fox, The Wall St Journal, The New York Times, CNBC, Fast Company, Forbes and others.  He has an MA in Anthropology from New York University and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Jean-Louis grew up in France at the onset of the digital age and found in technology the vehicle to quickly convert his ideas into new ways of working that transformed our world. His incessant curiosity led him to pioneer many technologies that we now take for granted: online banking, caller ID, internet access, global systems, B2B, digital trading, video conferencing, online advertising, and eHealth.

Jean-Louis spent the last 15 years giving back by accelerating the mission of [The Nature Conservancy](/org/the-nature-conservancy), transforming it into a cloud-based digital NGO and inventing breakthrough technologies to save our oceans.

Jean-Louis now serves with [NetHope](/org/nethope)’s The Center of the Digital Nonprofit, an accelerator and the center of excellence for digital transformation in nonprofits.

He resides virtually on the Internet @jecochard and physically in New Zealand where he lives sustainably with his wife and daughters, blending roles of husband, dad and systems visionary.
