Brendan Dischinger, GISP has diverse work experience in the field of GIS and DevOps. Brendan is currently working as a Cloud Automation Team Lead at NetImpact Strategies Inc. for the USDA-FPAC-NRCS IT Operations contract. In this role, they provide Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration Management, and general DevOps services for NRCS and GEO branch.
Prior to their current position, Brendan worked as a Senior System Administrator at ASRC Federal Vistronix. Here, they focused on ArcGIS Enterprise DevOps for the GEO and NRCS mission areas. Their responsibilities included the development of CI/CD pipelines for AWS infrastructure and ArcGIS Enterprise applications and content. Brendan utilized various tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Jenkins, BitBucket Server, Python, K6, and ESRI API's. Additionally, they handled ArcGIS Enterprise administration for Server, Portal, and DataStore.
Earlier in their career, Brendan served as a GIS Analyst at SUEZ, where they were responsible for maintaining ArcSDE geodatabases and associated geometric networks of water infrastructure. Brendan provided GIS support for projects related to non-revenue water, hydraulic modeling, and asset management.
Brendan also worked as a GIS Contractor at the City of Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota, on a joint project with the University of Minnesota. Brendan was part of a team of graduate students responsible for developing an impervious surface study. Furthermore, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Minnesota.
Brendan Dischinger, GISP, completed their education at the University of Minnesota, where they obtained a Master of Geographic Information Science (MGIS) degree from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they attended Binghamton University from 2004 to 2008 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Geography. Additionally, Brendan has various certifications including Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) from the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) in 2015.
