Afonso Firmo has had a diverse and impactful work experience. Afonso is the Co-Founder and Director of NetNada Pty Ltd, a sustainability software company that uses machine learning and AI for carbon accounting and footprint calculations. At NetNada, they develop smart emissions reduction strategies and technologies. Prior to NetNada, Afonso was the Co-Founder of Little Pepino, a D2C brand of sustainable household products. Afonso helped thousands of Australians live sustainably by offering alternatives to fast consumer goods. Afonso also worked as an Operations Coordinator at UNSW, where they provided support and crafted strategies to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity. Additionally, they served as a Junior Product Manager at Mizzen Group Pty Ltd, a digital pricing and rate management solution. Afonso's entrepreneurial spirit was evident as the co-founder and COO of Mova Motion Pty Ltd, a mobile application that transforms smartphones into wearable devices for high-quality workouts. Afonso also gained experience as a product development and prototyping engineer intern at DisruptSports.com, where they tested new product applications and performed product modeling using Autocad/Solid Works.

Afonso Firmo pursued their higher education starting from 2014 when they attended Universidad de la República. Afonso completed a Bachelor of Environmental Science degree from this institution, specializing in the field of Science. Afterward, from 2015 to 2019, Afonso enrolled at UNSW, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree, with a focus on Environmental studies.
