Paul Ashton

Paul Ashton is an accomplished professional in operational safety and assurance with a tenure at Network Rail since August 1998, currently serving as Head of Operational Safety & Assurance. In this capacity, Paul leads the development of strategies to achieve exemplary health, safety, and environmental performance while managing operational risk frameworks. Previous roles at Network Rail include Professional Head of Operations, Train Operations & Dangerous Goods Specialist, and various auditing positions, demonstrating expertise in operational policy and safety standards. Prior to Network Rail, Paul worked as a Slaughterman at Malton Food Processing and served in the RAF Police, overseeing security duties. Paul holds a Diploma and Certificate in Railway Business Management from Glasgow Caledonian University.
