Michael Bustillos has a diverse work experience in the field of user experience (UX) and design. Michael started their career in 1994 with Ingram Micro, where they worked as an Operations and Logistics professional, developing a user interface and database system that improved the efficiency of the receiving department. Michael also served as a Presentations Designer and New Media Designer before becoming a Sr. User Interface Designer.
In 2004, Michael moved on to work at Oversee.net, where they held positions as an Interaction Designer and later as a Product Manager. Michael played a key role in the success of the online home mortgage and refinance lead generation site, Low.com, and also contributed to the development of Revenue.net, an online advertising product.
Michael then joined Gateway in 2006 as an Information Architect, responsible for designing the information structure of their websites. After Gateway, Michael briefly worked at Acer as a Lead Information Architect and later as the Manager of Web Operations.
From 2004 to 2020, Michael also ran their own consulting firm called UX Design & Consulting, where they provided consulting services in the field of UX.
Currently, Michael is employed at Neudesic as the Director of UX, where they lead the UX team and contributes to the overall user experience strategy.

Michael Bustillos has a diverse education history. Michael obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from California State University, Fullerton, completing their studies from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Certificate in Computer Animation and Multimedia from Fullerton College, where they studied from 2003 to 2004. In 2002, they briefly attended Human Factors International, focusing on Human Factors and Usability but did not obtain a degree from there. Their education journey began at Fullerton College, where they earned an Associate in Arts degree in Advertising and Graphic Design from 1995 to 1997.
In addition to their formal education, Michael has also obtained a certification as an Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner from IBM in July 2022.
