Alain Cappeluti

Mr. Cappeluti is a key advisor to NeuImmune and will oversee its financial operations, particularly as it relates to fund-raising for the company. He has more than 40 years of experience in finance and public accounting for private and public companies, with more than 30 of those years spent in the biotech industry working for BioReliance, Human Genome Sciences (HGS), CoGenesys, and Teva Pharmaceuticals.

As the second employee of HGS in 1992, at the start of the human genome sequencing effort, he held positions of increasing responsibility and served as vice president of finance. He has managed both large and small internal financial operations and has participated directly in approximately $4 billion of corporate financing transactions, including private and public financings, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions. He led one of the largest real estate transactions in Maryland history while at HGS when the company executed a sale lease back on its corporate headquarters and large scale GMP manufacturing facilities. Mr. Cappeluti was part of the team that spun out CoGenesys from HGS in 2006 and was the CFO until the company was sold to Teva Pharmaceuticals in 2008. Mr. Cappeluti is also a co-founder, investor, and board member in several companies including Neximmune, an immunotherapy company which recent executed a successful IPO with a post-IPO valuation of $500 million, Noble Life Sciences, a pre-clinical CRO, OTraces, an early-stage cancer diagnostics company, Beta Cat Pharmaceuticals, a small molecule life sciences company, and ConverGene a small molecule life sciences company. He was the head of the Baltimore/Washington chapter of the Association of Bioscience Financial Officers (ABFO) for 10 years, and led an effort to establish an advisory panel to BIO of industry CFO's that helped them organize their efforts to represent the biotech industry to the SEC and the Joint Tax Committee of the House of Representatives. Mr. Cappeluti graduated from Old Dominion University with a BS in Accounting, and CPA in Virginia.
