Anders Smedsrud has a diverse work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Anders started their career as an apprentice in industrial mechanics at Hägglunds Moelv AS, MoEngineering AS, and Ringsaker Industriservice AS from 2001 to 2005. Anders then worked as an intern at TKS AS in 2009, where they designed and 3D-modeled an aggregate frame for agricultural use.

In 2010, Anders joined Kongsberg Devotek as a Design and Production Technology Engineer. During their time there until 2012, they worked on product development projects for various industries, focusing on concept development, 3D modeling, mechanical calculations, creating engineering drawings, project planning, assembly, customization, and prototype testing. Anders also had the opportunity to work on-site with companies such as Kongsberg Protech Systems (KPS) and Tomra ASA.

In 2012, Anders established their own consulting company called Smedsrud Consulting, where they provided mechanical support within product development. Anders worked on-site with Kongsberg Defence Systems (KDS) and offered expertise in concept development, CAD, FEM/FEA, engineering drawings, prototyping, and testing.

Anders joined Neuman Aluminium Raufoss in 2013 as a Testlab Engineer, responsible for testing hot and cold formed aluminum suspension systems with integrated ball joints. Anders also created 3D models and engineering drawings using Siemens NX. In 2018, they transitioned to the role of Development Engineer - Ball joint advanced development at Raufoss Technology.

Throughout their career, Anders has gained experience in a wide range of mechanical engineering tasks, including concept development, design, calculations, prototyping, testing, and project planning. Anders has worked with various companies, both as an employee and as a consultant, showcasing their versatility and expertise in the field.

Anders Smedsrud completed their education with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2005 to 2010. In addition, they attended South Dakota Mines from 2008 to 2009, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned. Prior to that, they attended Raufoss VGS from 2001 to 2005, where they focused on Tekniske og Allmenne Fag.
