Andreas Prof. Dr. Schmitt

Andreas Prof. Dr. Schmitt has extensive work experience in various roles within the medical field. Andreas is currently working as the Global Medical Lead for Multiple Sclerosis at Neuraxpharm. Prior to this, they were the CEO of Pyrgos Consulting. From 2017 to 2023, they served as the Head of Medical Affairs at Biogen. Before that, they held the position of Cluster Medical Head for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at Teva GmbH from 2014 to 2017. Andreas also worked as the Head of Medical Affairs and Medical Director for Specialty Medicines at TEVA Specialty Medicines and TEVA ratiopharm respectively. Earlier in their career, they served as the Director of Medical Affairs and Quality Assurance at Chiesi GmbH and as an Associate Medical Director at Wyeth. Andreas began their career as a Neurologist at the University Aachen, Faculty Medicine.

Andreas Prof. Dr. Schmitt obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Medizin from University Düsseldorf and Florence, between the years 1985 and 1993. Andreas went on to earn a Professorship in the field of Neurology from University Aachen between 1996 and 2004.
