Austin Hamm has over 20 years of experience in the field of clinical data management. Austin is currently working as a Principal Clinical Data Manager at Neurocrine Biosciences since July 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Clinical Data Manager at the same company from January 2021.
Before joining Neurocrine Biosciences, Austin worked at Cedars-Sinai as a Clinical Research Specialist from June 2018 to January 2021. In this role, they trained site personnel, managed staff, and provided mentorship. Austin also served as a resource and subject matter expert for protocol, project, and departmental issues.
Prior to Cedars-Sinai, Austin worked at Children's Oncology Group from November 2015 to June 2018 as a Clinical Data Manager and Study Builder. Austin led research coordination for Project:EveryChild, provided oversight and mentoring to junior research coordinators, and presented in panel discussions regarding managed disease areas in CRA Discipline Committee at COG annual group meetings.
Austin's experience also includes working at Cancer Research and Biostatistics from November 2011 to October 2015 as a Clinical Research Data Coordinator II. Austin served as the lead coordinator for the Lung-MAP and sub-studies, facilitated training of CRAs in annual SWOG national workshop sessions, and acted as a technical resource to other data management staff.
Earlier in their career, Austin worked at Pacific Biomarkers, Inc as a Data Analyst from July 2007 to October 2011 and as a Data Management Associate from May 2006 to July 2007. Austin also worked as an Information Systems Analyst at Mary Bridge Children's Health Alliance from May 2005 to December 2005.
Austin started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Washington from October 2003 to February 2005 and as an IT Consultant at the University of Puget Sound from September 2000 to August 2003.
Austin Hamm, CCDM, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of Puget Sound, which they obtained from 2000 to 2004. In 2005, they completed a certification program in Phlebotomy at North Seattle College. In addition to their educational background, Austin Hamm has obtained certifications in the field of clinical research. Austin became a Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) through the Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM) in March 2023. Furthermore, they earned a certification as a Certified Clinical Research Professional from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) in November 2013.
