Cristian Galán Augé

Cristian Galán Augé began their work experience in 2018 at ASCIRES as a Research and Development Intern. In this role, they were responsible for the segmentation and quantification of visceral and subcutaneous fat from CT images. Cristian also developed a user interface for a densitometry fat calculator using MATLAB and assisted in the development of the training, testing, and validation steps for an algorithm.

Later, Cristian transitioned to the role of Research and Development Technician at ASCIRES in 2019. In this position, they focused on medical imaging post-processing and imaging biomarkers. Cristian also applied machine learning and deep learning techniques to radiology, and provided supervision and assessment for the design of MRI and PET/MRI protocols.

Currently, Cristian is working at Neuroelectrics as a Specialist in Biophysical Head Modeling. Starting in 2022, they have taken on the technical responsibility for an FDA Pivotal trial involving over 40 sites. Cristian is also responsible for data anonymization according to GDPR and HIPAA standards, as well as software development for medical image pre-processing and MRI data processing.

Overall, Cristian has gained valuable experience in data analysis, software development, medical imaging, and machine learning throughout their work history.

Cristian Galán Augé pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, majoring in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering, at Universitat Pompeu Fabra from 2015 to 2019. Continuing their educational journey, they are currently enrolled in the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, where they are expected to complete their Master's degree in Data Science from 2021 to 2023.
