Dimitris Athanasiou

Dimitris Athanasiou has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In 2008, they interned at the Social Institution of Welfare and Auxiliary Insurance for Horseracing Personnel. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a research intern at NCSR "Demokritos", where they completed their MSc in Mechanical Engineering thesis. In 2013, they served as a soldier in the Technical Department of the Hellenic Army. In 2015, they worked as a Research Assistant at Imperial College London, contributing to a published scientific article. In 2016, they joined Lightpoint Medical as a Technical Consultant and later became a member of the EF6 Cohort at Entrepreneur First. Currently, they are the Co-founder and CTO of Neurofenix, a purpose-driven start-up focused on improving the lives of people with neurological injury.

Dimitris Athanasiou has a strong educational background with a focus on engineering and biomedical/medical engineering. Dimitris obtained a Master's Degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Imperial College London in the period of 2014-2015. Prior to that, they completed their Diploma of Advanced Engineering Studies in Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens from 2007 to 2014. Dimitris also attended the Experimental Lyceum of Agioi Anargyroi from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained their High School degree with a focus on Exact Sciences and Technology. Additionally, they have certifications including a Certificate of Proficiency in English from the University of Michigan and a Goethe-Zertifikat C2 from the Goethe Institut.
