Christian Hauptmann is currently an advisor at Neurosoft Bioelectronics. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Desyncra Operating GmbH and Desyncra Technologies Ltd from June 2016 to June 2019. There, they developed innovative medical devices for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, Epilepsy and Tinnitus. From January 2009 to December 2013, they worked as the Head of Neurotechnology lab at ANM Adaptive Neuromodulation GmbH. And from January 2002 to May 2016, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Forschungszentrum Jülich.
After Hauptmann's PhD in physics from the University of Cologne, they did their habilitation (a second doctoral degree) in medical physics at the same school. Christian also has a Diplom (a professional degree) in physics from the Technische Universität Darmstadt.
