Lieutenant - Investigation Division/ Major Crimes Unit at Nevada State Police

Joel Martin, CFEI, has extensive law enforcement experience, currently serving as a Sergeant in the Office of Professional Responsibility and as a Bureau Chief of Investigation and Enforcement for the Nevada State Police / Fire Marshal Division since 2017. Previously, Joel held various positions including Investigator, Probation Parole Officer, and State Trooper. Joel's earlier experience includes serving as a Police Officer, Field Training Officer, and K-9 Officer with the Winnemucca Police Department from 2013 to 2017, and as a Military Police Officer in the Nevada Army National Guard from 2006 to 2012. Joel holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Homeland Security and an Associate of Arts in Weapons of Mass Destruction Preparedness from the American Public University System, and is currently furthering education at the National Fire Academy.
