Amy Laitinen

Amy Laitinen is a seasoned professional in higher education policy, currently serving as the Director for Higher Education at the New America Foundation since August 2011. Previously, Amy held the position of Senior Program Officer for Policy and Finance at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from August 2022 to August 2023, where responsibilities included managing the postsecondary finance portfolio to promote equitable access and success for all students. Amy's academic background includes a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, a Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies from New College of Florida, and an Associate of Arts in Theater from Miami Dade College.
