Cara Sklar is a seasoned professional in education policy, currently serving as Director of Early and Elementary Education Policy at New America since July 2018, after previously holding the position of Deputy Director in the same department. Prior to her tenure at New America, Cara Sklar was the Director of Research and Policy at Briya Public Charter School from October 2012 to July 2018 and served as an Education Research Analyst at the Office of the State Superintendent of Education. Earlier experience includes roles as a Federal Policy Analyst at ZERO TO THREE and as an Analyst at ICF International. Cara Sklar began her career at the Early Care and Education Administration as a Program Specialist. Education includes a Master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Georgetown University.
