Mandy Dean

Mandy Dean is a Senior Communications Associate for the Education Policy Program, supporting projects related to PR strategy, digital marketing, external partnerships, and brand visibility.

Prior to joining New America, she managed communications and stakeholder outreach efforts for the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the research arm of the U.S. Department of Education. Before supporting federal data projects, Mandy worked at a communications firm specializing in public affairs that advanced the business concerns and policy interests of America’s agricultural cooperatives and other farmer-owned enterprises.

Mandy holds a master’s degree in strategic communication from American University and a bachelor’s degree from The University of Tennessee. Though she is a proud Knoxvillian and lifelong Tennessee Volunteer, she now lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her longtime boyfriend Mitch and their handsome rescue pit bull, Charleston Blue.
