Prof. Hasan Imam Syed Tahir MD

Professor Hasan Tahir is a Consultant Physician & Rheumatologist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He is a leading specialist in the latest research and clinical application of innovative treatments for arthritis, including biological therapies for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.

Professor Tahir has received multiple prestigious awards in recognition of his clinical and research contributions. These include two NIHR Principal Investigator Recognition Awards, the NIHR at 10 Award, the Gold Standard NASS Change Maker Award, the BSR Best Practice Award in the category of Emerging Best Practice, and the Barts Health Innovations Award for Service Improvement.

He is an Honorary Clinical Professor in the Division of Medicine at University College London and is actively involved in medical education and training. He serves as the Medical Secretary of the MRCP (PACES) Clinical Exam Board, overseeing the academic delivery and standards of this key postgraduate medical examination. He is also a Trustee of the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS).
