John Tweedie

John Tweedie, M. Ed., CAGS, has been serving as the Principal of Whaling City Jr./Sr. High School in New Bedford Public Schools since August 2012, where additional responsibilities include supervising attendance and acting as a court liaison. Prior to this role, John worked as a DCF Social Worker and Court Liaison at the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families from March 2002 to August 2012. Educational qualifications include a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership and Administration from American International College, a Master's degree in Special Education from Bridgewater State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. John's foundational education was completed at New Bedford High School, earning a high school diploma in 1996.
