Derek Sarno is a plant-based chef and food innovator who is currently serving as an advisor at New Crop Capital. Derek has over 20 years of experience in the food industry, with a focus on recipe development, healthy eating, and plant-based cuisine. Derek is a former Global Executive Chef for Whole Foods Market, and their team was responsible for launching and developing the company's Healthy Eating directive & standards between 2009 and 2016. Derek has also served as Catering Director for the WFM Academy of Conscious leadership, where they launched WFM's internal catering platform to showcase and promote the company's progressive vision while upholding financial standards and operational excellence. In addition to their work with Whole Foods, Derek is also a co-founder of Good Catch Foods, a plant-based seafood company that creates delicious, healthy, and sustainable seafood alternatives. Derek has been featured in several media campaigns, videos series and national magazines, and is an avid animal lover who loves sriracha sauce and training wild squirrels in the ways of the ninja.

Derek Sarno's educational career has been focused on helping people achieve a better quality of life through understanding and checking their motivations. Derek has studied habitual patterns, ego analysis, and awareness, with a major in culinary skills, at the School of Common Sense.
