Peggy Hayes is an experienced communications and marketing professional with a career spanning over three decades in higher education and public relations. Currently serving as the Director of Communications and Marketing at the New England Board of Higher Education since February 2023, Peggy leads initiatives that focus on policy, research, and educational accessibility. Previous roles include Director of Communications at Northeastern University College of Professional Studies, where business goals and digital strategies were enhanced, and Director of Communications for the Allston Development Group at Harvard University, managing communications for significant development projects. Earlier experiences include directing health sciences public relations at Tufts University and serving as Vice President at Ketchum Public Relations. Peggy earned a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from Vassar College and a Master's Degree in Communications from Northeastern University.

NEBHE promotes greater educational opportunities and services for the residents of New England. In pursuit of this mission, we work across the six New England states to: -Engage and assist leaders in the assessment, development, and implementation of sound education practices and policies of regional significance. -Promote policies, programs, and best practices to assist the states in implementing important regional higher education policies. -Promote regional cooperation and programs that encourage the efficient use and sharing of educational resources. -Provide leadership to strengthen the relationship between higher education and the economic well-being of New England.
